The Junior League of Bakersfield delivered Thanksgiving food baskets to Child Guidance families last week, kicking off the Clinic’s 16th Holiday Families Program. The Junior League coordinates with other local agencies to impact the community through volunteerism and contribution. "We wanted to help families who were working to improve their lives and the lives of their children," stated Claudia Estupinian, a therapist for Child Guidance and Junior League volunteer, "it just semmed like a perfect fit to work with the Child Guidance Clinic." The Junior League's team of caring volunteers raised over $4,000 to provide holiday meals to 413 children and caregivers.

For many of our families, the financial burden of providing holiday meals, gifts, and essential items such as warm blankets, jackets, and shoes can be overwhelming. The Henrietta Weill Memorial Child Guidance Clinic’s Holiday Families Program brings together generous businesses, community organizations, and individuals from throughout Kern County to support families in need throughout the holiday season. We thank the Junior League of Bakersfield for supporting our families this holiday season. If you would like to support be a part of our Holiday Families Program, please visit
