The Henrietta Weill Memorial Child Guidance Clinic held its 16th annual Holiday Families Program this December. The Holiday Families Program provides families with gifts and essentials such as food baskets, jackets, and blankets. This year, the Clinic partnered with the Active 20-30 Club of Bakersfield to give families the complete holiday experience including a tree with decorations, gifts, and a stocking with grocery gift cards.
The Active 20-30 Club has served underprivileged youth in Bakersfield since 1928. Over the last 10 years, the Active 20-30 Club has helped families during the holiday season with their Christmas Experience event. This year, the Active 20-30 Club and Child Guidance partnered to raise more money and help more families than ever before. “When we met to discuss the possibility of partnering, it became clear that we had the same goal and could do so much more together,” stated Director of Marketing Joshua Sullivan, “We are excited to know that this partnership will allow Holiday Families to continue for years to come.” Together, the two agencies raised $32,000 and provided Christmas to over 160 children.
The Holiday Families program is the Child Guidance Clinic’s largest annual community event with planning and fundraising events held throughout the year. If you would like to learn how you can volunteer or donate, visit our support pages.
